The top 5 Lanzarote Excursions in August 2022

It's been a great August here in Lanzarote, with excursions and trips selling up way in advance of people visiting the island. 2022 in general has been an extremely busy year as travel corridors and COVID-19 restrictions began to ease and tourists flocked to the island for some much needed rest, relaxation and recuperation.

The Excursions market has not only picked up where it left off pre-COVID but in some areas is actually exceeding exception. We're seeing excursions unavailable to people who want to book on the day because demand is so high and the trips are fully booked up weeks in advance.

If you're still not sure about things to do in Lanzarote, we thought we'd share the top 5 Lanzarote Attractions and Excursions for August 2022, as chosen by our guests!

Rancho Texas Lanzarote Park

It's not surprise that the Rancho Texas Lanzarote Park is up there with the most popular excursions. This family friendly day out in Puerto del Carmen is a great way to spend time with the kids exploring and discovering the animals, enjoying the waterpark and enjoying the lanzarote sunshine.

The Dolphin and Sea Lion experiences are also very popular, so much so in fact that they have recently introduced a duo ticket where you can swim and interact with both the dolphins and sea lions with one ticket!

Short South Tour

Although we thought this might be top of the list, the Short South Tour is a great way to get out and see the volcanic landscape of the island without committing to a full day excursion. It's a perfect morning out, getting you back to your accommodation in time for an afternoon on the beach or by the pool.

The tour itself covers just the very best bits of the South of Lanzarote and largely focussed on the Timanfaya National Park, including the optional Camel ride, before heading to the wine district of La Geria.

The Timanfaya Grand Tour

Of course it had to be listed with the top excursions, the Timanfaya Grand Tour is the ultimate full day tour of Lanzarote.

Like the Short South Tour, but with much more to see and do, the Grand Tour takes you to the Timanfaya National Park, with optional Camel Ride, but also includes the wine district and wine tasting, El Golfo and the Green Lake (El Lago Verde), Haria and the Vallery of 1000 Palms, a lunch stop and Los Jameos del Agua; a subterranean salt water lake, gardens and concert hall situated in a lava tunnel!

With the attractions being more popular than ever, we've been seeing some huge queues of traffic at The Timanfaya National Park. One way to get avoid the queues is to book on an organised excursion as the tour operators and coaches have priority when it comes to accessing the attraction. 'I Love Papagayo' Catamaran Cruise

The I Love Papagayo Catamaran Cruise comes in as the best selling boat trip in Lanzarote for August 2022.

Departing from Puerto del Carmen, sail around the south coast of the island before dropping anchor at the Papagayo Beaches where you'll enjoy free time to spend in the water or just relaxing on the boat. An all-inclusive bar is available for the duration of the sailing and you'll be served up some freshly made lunch on board. Sounds good? Don't just take our word for it; check it out for yourself!

Buggy Tour Lanzarote

And No. 5 in our list of top 5 excursions and activities in Lanzarote for August 2022 is the Buggy Tour

We find this tour to be popular with lads'n'dads, couples and groups as they take in the Lanzarote scenery 'off road'. Put the pedal to the metal as you see Lanzarote like never before winding through off-road paths and coastal tracks. The Lanzarote Buggy Tour is great fun and there is a stop off for refreshments half way round the tour.
